Mrs. Joan Haney, 71, Hillsboro, Rt. 7, died Tuesday at 1:25 A. M. at Brown County Hospital, Georgetown. She was born in Kentucky, Aug. 1, 1901, the daughter of Bond David Rose and Nancy Chambers Rose, but had resided in this area many years. Her husband, George, died in 1970, and she was also preceded in death by a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Ann Harper in 1969.
She is survived by three sons, Julian Haney, Hillsboro Rt. 7, Gerald Haney, Greenfield, and James Haney, Hagerstown, Md., three sisters, Mrs. Gertrude Childers, and Mrs. Elizabeth Combs, both of Lexington, Ky., Mrs. Millie Haney, West Liberty, Ky.; eight grandchildren. Services were held at 2 P. M. Thursday at the Gleason Roberts Funeral Home in Mowrytown, with burial in New Market Baptist Cemetery.
