Michael A. Rickert, age 70, died January 29, 2021 at his home in Navarre, Florida. He was born in Greenville, Ohio on November 13, 1950, to the late Harold C. Rickert and Sylvia Marceille "Marcy" Hyland (née Coblentz). Mike graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1968, and married Yvonne Wilson on June 7, 1974. An accomplished chef and club manager, he spent most of his life working in the hospitality industry, including restaurants, private clubs, and hotels, throughout Ohio, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, and Louisiana. For the past 7 years, he worked for ServSafe, teaching food safety certification classes across the Southeast. He could often be found tending to his bonsai trees, beachcombing, cooking, or making crafts and jewelry. He and his wife attended church services on the beach and volunteered with Navarre BeachSide Church.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Paul D. Hyland, and stepmother, Alice A. Rickert (née Franklin). He is survived by his wife, Yvonne; two children, Mandy (Lisa) Rickert of Florence, KY, and Lyndsy (Matt) Marmor of Gulf Breeze, FL; his brother, Jeff (Lana) Rickert of Navarre, FL; sister-in-law, Kathy (Rick) Marion of Farmersville, OH; two nieces, Devan Rickert of Navarre, FL, and Erica Marion of Farmersville, OH; one nephew, Ian Rickert of Lebanon, OH, and 5 grand-nieces and -nephews: Kaia & Aiden Shepherd and Kayla, Austin, & Tyler Rickert. He will also be greatly missed by many friends and relatives, including his canine companion, Winston.

Per Mike's wishes, family and friends will gather to scatter the ashes at a future date. Arrangements handled by Emerald Coast Funeral Home of Fort Walton Beach, FL.
