Dorothy Ida Irvin, 105 Years old, passed away on February 16, 2021.
She was born on September 14, 1915 in Clinton County, Ohio to Adine and Clyde Fordyce. She was a resident of Ohio her entire life. Over 50 of those years she lived in Hillsboro.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald L. Irvin and her two sons, Ronald K. Irvin, MD and Thomas L. Irvin, DDS. Her brother Gailon Fordyce also preceded her in death.She is survived by her four grandchildren Kristen S. (Joshua) Welch-Heimlich, Scott E. (Michele) Irvin, Stephen K. (Elizabeth) Irvin and Matthew A. Irvin. She is also survived by seven great-granchildren, Kiernan Welch, Madeline Irvin, Tucker Welch, William Irvin, Eden Irvin, Leo Irvin, and Helen Irvin.
Dorothy was a contributing member of several organizations in Hillsboro including the Women’s Club, Garden Club, Audubon Society, Historical Museum, and a member of the Hillsboro United Methodist Church for over 50 years where she and her husband served on numerous committees. She was a nurse at Highland County District Hospital for several years.
Arrangements are provided by the Tufts- Schildmeyer Funeral Home, Riverside Drive, Loveland, Ohio. A Graveside Service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday, February 24 at the IOOF Cemetery, Blanchester, Ohio.
