Our precious Mother, Billie DeSart Kindt, died peacefully at the Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and entered the loving arms of Jesus on February 14, 2021.
She was the middle daughter born to Wayne and Alice (Miller) DeSart on August 28, 1934 in Rock County, Jasper, Minnesota. She graduated from Jasper High School and married her high school sweetheart, Milton "Poots" Kindt. Together they raised three children, Lynnette, Keith and Bryce. They farmed South of Jasper for over 60 years.
Billie was a gracious hostess and everyone was welcome in her home. Her bridge club friends were like family and she delighted in fixing them a special lunch. She had a talent for creating beautiful things and enjoyed having her home decorated “to the nines.” Her strong passion for music and theater was unmistakable and she enjoyed singing and performing with the Al Opland Singers in Pipestone, MN. She was full of personality and life and had so much fun coaching cheerleading at Jasper High School. Mom took part in local Bible Study Groups and was known by many as a prayer warrior. She often quoted scripture to anyone who crossed her path. Billie was an advocate and caregiver for her son, Keith. She always supported her hometown, Jasper, and loved her Country.
We are so grateful for having her as our mom. She had a powerful impact on her children and grandchildren’s lives. She will be remembered for her deep love for friends, family, and her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She is survived by her husband, Milton; daughter, Lynnette (Tim) Qualm; son, Bryce (Cherie) Kindt; 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Betty Mattson of Detroit Lakes, Minnesota; and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her son, Keith; her parents; and her sister, Lois Johnson.
