Gloria Asplundh Harer, 96, long time resident of Glenview passed away December 21, 2020 at her home. Gloria was born in Huntingdon Valley, PA to Oswald and Bess (Heilman) on July 16, 1924. Her family moved to Glenview when Gloria was in 8th Grade. She attended Northwestern University and received her BA in Music. She taught in the Northbrook Public Schools. In 1948, she married Warren Harer and together they raised four children, Glenn, Wayne, Pam and Mark. Gloria's passion was her music. She taught piano lessons in her Glenview home as well as continuing her own lessons and performing for her music teacher's group. She enjoyed playing the organ at the Glenview New Church for church services, weddings, and funerals. Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, Warren, who passed away in 2010 as well as all her four siblings. She is survived by her children, Glenn (Marcia), Wayne, Pam (Eric) Olson, and Mark. She enjoyed her nine grandchildren, Colleen (Ed) Tinch, MacLean (Liz) Harer, Cameron Harer, Kyle (Mallory) Harer, Ryan Harer, Kevyn Harer, Kristin Olson (Chris) Schneider, Daric (Melissa) Olson and Curtis Olson. In addition, she had 11 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be planned for a future date. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lambs Farm, 14245 Rockland, Libertyville, IL 60048.
