For 35 years he was a maintenance worker with the Milano School District retiring in 1976. He was president of Milano Senior Citizens and a member of Milano Lions Club and Lexington Senior Citizens He was a veteran. Preceded in death by his wife, Annie Grace Hairston of 8/18/1977; son, James Hairston; 3 brothers, Bob, Bill and Charles Hairston; sister, Virginia Westbrook.
SURVIVORS: 3 sons, Charles and Joe Hairston of Rockdale, Keith Hairston of Greenville, KY.; 3 daughters, Mrs. William (Pat) Goins of Virginia, Mrs. James (Sue) Blankenship of Dallas and Mrs. Don (Linda) Purswell of Cleveland; 17 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
