GUSTIN RITES HELD FRIDAY AT CHURCH OF CHRIST HERE

Funeral services were held Friday for Henry M. Gustin, Guthrie Center, Iowa resident whose death occurred last week at the home as an result of a stroke suffered some weeks ago. The rites were conducted in the Church of Christ with the Rev. C.J. Biddle, pastor, officiating.
Music during the service was [ sang by Mrs. Edna Robison and Mrs. Edna Masters who sang "Going Down The Valley" and "The Old Rugged Cross." ] The Reverend Biddle sang "Jesus Saviour Pilot Me." Mrs. J.C. Seaman was the accompanist. Casket bearers were: Norman Burr, Marion Gustin, William Burr, James Oakes, Lester Halterman and Lester Miller. Interment was in Union Cemetery.
The obituary follows: Henry Milton Gustin, son of [ Pinkney and Susannah Gustin], was born May 17, 1877 in Audubon County, Iowa, and passed away at his home in Guthrie Center, Iowa, June 22, 1943 after a short illness at the age of 66 years, 1 month, and 5 days.
When he was a young man he joined the Baptist Church but in later years he attended the Church of Christ.
In the year 1896 he was united in marriage to Josephine Burr of Cedar County, Iowa and to this union were born nine children, five daughters; Edith May James, Anna Sheeder, Francis Kirkpatrick, Dirly Christian, all of Guthrie Center, Iowa and Mable Nagel of Anita, Iowa; four sons, Kenneth and Delmar Gustin of Guthrie Center and David and Oscar Gustin of the Armed Services.
He leaves to mourn his death besides his wife and children, 41 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, also two sisters, Mrs. Amanda Moffitt and Mrs. Belle James of Adair, Iowa; and three brothers, Robert Gustin of Adair, Burt Gustin of Hobson, Montana and Vern of Guthrie Center.
