Funeral services for Juan Griego, 65, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at Sacred Heart Catholic Church with the Rev. Arsenio Redulla officiating. Burial will be in Plainview Cemetery by Bartley Funeral Home of Plainview. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Mr. Griego died Friday, Oct. 12, 2007, at Covenant Hospital Plainview. He was born Nov. 9, 1941, in Lubbock to Juan and Bernarda Griego. He married Josephine Gallardo on Nov. 24, 1962, in Plainview.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Joe Griego of Oklahoma, Felix Griego of Lubbock and Johnny Griego, Jessie Griego, Carlos Griego and Nick Griego, all of Plainview; one daughter, Victoria Griego of Plainview; two brothers, Nick Griego and Frank Griego, both of Plainview; two sisters, Margarita Valenzuela of Plainview and Clara Araujo of Lockney; 22 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews. His daughter, Mary Lou Griego Esparza, is deceased.
