Dwight then moved to China Grove, North Carolina until at age eight, his family moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to be missionaries.
Dwight met his future wife on the mission field. On October 23, 1976, he married Eileen Ammons in Maryland.
Dwight worked at Sears Automotive Center for 28 years in Maryland before returning to New Mexico in 2011.
Dwight enjoyed spending time with his family, taking care of his rescue dogs, and going on road trips.
Dwight was preceded in death by parents, Joney and Pauline Phillips, brother, Lawrence Phillips, niece Renae Pinto and nephew, Bruce Pinto Sr..
Dwight leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 44 years, Eileen Phillips, daughter, Jennifer Jeffers (Alvin), grandchildren, Michael III, Jacob and Ryan, sister, Beverly Hines (Tom), nephew, Lawrence Phillips Jr. (Desiree) and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be at Daniels Funeral Home, 2400 Southern Blvd., Rio Rancho, NM on Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
