Services for Mr. Phil Balfour, age 59, of Red Springs are scheduled for 2:00 P.M. Thursday in the Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Home Chapel in Lindale with Rev. Fred Morrow and Dr. Richard Kirgan officiating. Interment will follow in the Red Springs Cemetery. Mr. Balfour died Monday in a Tyler Hospice Center. He was born May 23, 1944 in Lindale and lived the majority of his life in the Red Springs Community. He was a member of the Lindale First Baptist Church, Tyler St. Johns Masonic Lodge and Sharon Shrine Temple. Mr. Balfour was retired from the Kelly Springfield Company. He was preceded in death by his parents, Brittain & Eunice Downing Balfour; a brother, Gary Balfour; and nephew, Scott Medlin.

Mr. Balfour is survived by his wife, Mrs. Linda Balfour of Red Springs; son & daughter-in-law, Derek & Claire Balfour of Austin; daughter & son-in-law, Deverre' & Michael Crews of Longview; sister & brother-in-law, Molly & Kenneth Medlin of Red Springs; and 4 grandchildren, Whitney & Jackson Crews, both of Longview and McKinzie & Georgia Balfour, both of Austin. Serving as pallbearers will be Ken Calvert, Ray Lewis, Kerry Lee, Jerry Null, Jimmy McKay, Paul Turman, James Gossett, Billy Ben Tompkins, and James Stovall.

Family will receive friends from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday evening at the Funeral Home. Memorial may be made to Hospice of East Texas, 4111 University Blvd., Tyler, Texas 75701.
