She was preceded in death by her parents Dennis and Dorothy McMurray, 6 brothers Roger, Eugene, Jerry, Terry, Gary, and Nathaniel McMurray.
Marie is survived by her husband of 51 years Noah Vernon of the home, three sons Terry Allen Vernon of the home, Faris Vernon and wife, Christy of Salem, IN, Kenneth Vernon and wife, Leigh of Salem, IN, 10 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by one brother Dennis McMurray of Salem, IN, four sisters Nancy Rutherford and her husband, Eddie of Jonesville, VA, Nina Robbins of Powell, TN, Viven Rice of Salem, IN, and Elizabeth Dyke and wife, Lynn Robbins of Mitchell, IN.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 11, 2021, at Anderson Cemetery in Keokee, VA with officiating. Family and friends are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 AM Thursday for the service. Province Funeral Home of Pennington Gap, VA is honored to serve the family of Melissa Marie Vernon. Due to covid-19 state regulations, only 10 are allowed at the funeral home and cemetery those attending are asked to wear masks/facial covering. Social distancing guidelines will also be in place.
