Josephine was the daughter of John Mohr and Francis. She married Casper Ahart on 30 Dec 1869 at Radolfzell, Konstanz, Baden-Wuerttemberg, Germany . They arrived at New York, New York on 16 August 1876. They were the parents of 9 children: Herman, Julius, Adolph, Caroline, Joseph Anthony, Albert Thomas, Anna Katherine 1871-1967 #166447057, and 2 children who died in infancy. She married 2nd Barney Heitman about 1912.

Denison Review - Wednesday , September 24th, 1913 - Mrs. Josephine Heitman, Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Ahart and Joseph Ahart came down from Bloomfield, Neb., on Monday to be in attendance at the funeral of their son and brother, Herman Ahart which was held at Charter Oak Tuesday morning.

Denison Bulletin - Wednesday , March 4th, 1931 - Dow City, la. Josephine Mohr, daughter of John and Francis Mohr, was born in Baden, Germany, March 19, 1849, being at the time of her death 81 years, 11 months and 7 days of age.

In 1869 she was married to Casper Ahart and 9 children were born to this union, two dying in infancy and one son, Herman, died about eighteen years ago. The six who survive their
mother are Adolph of Denison, Albert of Yankton, S.D.; Joe of Early, la.; Mrs. Lena Stodden of Mapleton, Julius and Mrs. Kate Birkhofer of Dow City.

In 1875 Mr. and Mrs. Ahart came to Dow City and lived in this vicinity for a number of years. After the death of her husband, Mrs. Ahart moved to Crofton, Nebr., and in 1912 was married to Barney Heitman.

About four years ago, Mr. an d Mrs. Heitman came to Dow City to take up their residence. Mr. Heitman passed away January 20, 1930 and since that time Mrs. Heitman has been cared for in the Herman Seimer home in Arion. The deceased has been sorely afflicted for several years and failed very rapidly since the death of her companion. She departed this life on February 26th, after being bedfast for seven weeks.

The remains were brought to the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. Birk­hofer near Dow City and Saturday morning funeral services were held in Denison at the Catholic church of which she has been a lifetime mem­ ber. The remains were laid to rest in the Dow City cemetery beside her husband.

Besides her children she leaves to mourn her loss twenty-four grandchildren and twenty great grandchildren and other relatives and friends.

Those from out of town attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stodden of Mapleton, Mr. and Mrs. Vaskic of Remsen, la., also Elizabeth and Clara Stodden of Remsen, Rose and Magdalene Ahart, Omaha, Mr. and Mrs. Joe Ahart, of Early and Clem Honz of Dunlap.
