On February 7, 2021, Wilbur Merle Fosmore, Sr. left this life and put on immortality at his home in Charlevoix, MI as he stepped into Heaven to meet his Savior face to face. Wilbur was a native of Carp Lake, MI and a 1956 graduate of Pellston High School. He was a faithful servant of Christ and was not ashamed to tell anyone of his love for God.

He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey; and mother Ruth (Struble); brothers Ralph (wife Kay) and George Dewey; sisters and spouses Bernice (Nelson Allerding) and Ione (Jim Lugibihl); son-in-law Steve Weir; and grandsons Andrew James Fosmore and Jared Fosmore; nephew Randall Fosmore; nieces Melinda (Fosmore) Palmer and Mary Lou Allerding; father-in-law George Rose .

He also leaves behind 22 grandchildren, 34 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. Step children Mitchell (Kelsey) Baker, Matthew Baker, and Angela Lambert.

Everyone who knew Wilbur knew he loved his Lord, his family, and his Detroit Tigers! Wilbur coached little league baseball in his early years of fatherhood. He was often found at Tiger Stadium, as well as local ball fields and gymnasiums cheering his children and grandchildren throughout his life. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed camping, hiking (especially with his dogs), fishing, and hunting. He taught his children and grandchildren to enjoy the great outdoors, too. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers at this time. If you would like to make a donation in his memory, please make it payable to NMCA Sports because he was one of their most loyal fans!
