Rene Louisa Clardy-Cooksey
May 7, 1961 - December 17, 2017
Rene Louisa Clardy-Cooksey was born in Phoenix, Arizona. Rene and her brother Tommie were both adopted and raised by their parents Hortense Z. Clardy and Tommy L. Clardy Sr. in Tucson, Arizona. Growing up in the A Mountain neighborhood many childhood friends and memories were made throughout her childhood. She spoke with joy about summer visits to see family in California as a young lady and would often tell stories about the times she reminisced on growing up back in the day. Rene was a spirited Cholla Charger High School Cheerleader, which was evident because she often would be caught chanting with her beautiful smile.
Rene was well known for being the life of the party and always found a way to make things that were dry, interesting and fun. At a young age, it was obvious that she was a leader that cared about everyone she got a chance to be around because she had an infectious smile which would light up the entire room, no matter the people that filled it.
Shortly after High School before Rene came across the opportunity to go into the mortgage banking industry Rene completed coursework at Pima Community College. Over the course of 30 years mostly spent in the Greater area of Phoenix, Arizona Rene thrived in all areas within the Mortgage Banking Industry. She was the best at her profession because she embodied a charismatic, outgoing, and hardworking attitude that could not be reckoned with. Rene was extremely proud to serve families in her profession and brought many dreams to many families home she developed lifelong lasting friendships with alongside a host of co-workers and colleagues.
Rene loved her little brother Tommie when he was little Rene always joked about sending him back because he was such a crybaby! Rene and her brother have always had a special bond that was inseparable. The love she had for her little brother represented the type of mother she became to her two sons Cleophus Jr. and Terrence. Rene loved her children to the core like no other, she attended every school and sporting event that her sons were involved in. Rene gave all she could give for the well-being of her sons. Rene’s biggest joy was her grandchildren Cionnah and Izayan. Rene’s love for her loved ones was truly a gift of gold that everyone felt, it never stopped flowing because it was contagious. She would do anything for anyone that mattered to her whether that meant opening up her home for her loved ones or just being a listening ear that could offer her spiritual gift of prophecy that moved many lives in the right direction.
Rene was preceded in death by her mother Hortense, Father Tommy Sr., Grandmother Katherine, Grandmother Frances and Beloved Partner Ed Nunn. She leaves to cherish in her precious memory her brother Tommie Lee Clardy Jr (Adora); Her Son Cleophus Cooksey Jr; Her Son Terrence Cooksey; Granddaughter Cionnah; Grandson Izayan; Her Nieces Brittany (Neal), Caprishia, Tamia; Her Nephews Tommie Clardy III (Mariah), Zimar, Little Neal, and Nehemiah; Her Aunt Jean; Her Uncle Stephen(Robin) and a host of cousins, in-laws, and lifelong friends.
