Bonnie attended the Big Flat Assembly of God Church. Her pride and joy was being the church secretary and treasurer for over 40 years. She also enjoyed working around the farm, raising chickens and cows, watching basketball, baking meringue pies, and quilting with her friends at church. In her early years, she picked cotton, worked at a restaurant, and a furniture store. She loved to laugh and tell old stories.
Bonnie is survived by two daughters Debbie Watts (Larry) and Donna C. Mitchell; two grandchildren, Lori Diffey (Matt), Sheridan Watts (Kena); sister Rosie Green and brother Clifford Balentine; and family friend Beverly Scott along with many extended family, friends and caregivers.
Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents Ira and Mary Balentine, husband Hale Mitchell, grandchild Kristy Watts; brothers, Hartford, Lester and Eulis; and sisters, Drucilla, Lucille, Chloe and Blanche.
A graveside service for Bonnie was held Monday, February 8, 2021 at 1:00 PM at Big Flat Cemetery in Big Flat, AR with Larry Watts and Sheridan Watts officiating.
Pallbearers are Ronald Ragland, Jerry Watts, Matt Diffey, Lee Sisk, Takumi Nishiuchi, and Dennis Treat. Honorary pallbearers are Jimmy Mitchell, Ronnie Wilson, Larry Watts, Sheridan Watts, Lori Diffey, Kena Watts, Heather Davis-Shockley, Julie Carrigan, and Jason Oleson.
