MUNCIE — Jeffrey L. Goodpaster, 51, passed away Oct. 14, 2007, at Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born May 18, 1956 in Muncie, the son of Larry and Ruth (Wallen) Goodpaster.
Jeffrey was a 1974 graduate of Yorktown High School. He was a private pilot, loved to boat and scuba dive and he was a man that could do about anything, he even constructed and built his own home. Jeffrey had been disabled the last 17 years of his life, but he lived and loved life with his family and friends.
Survivors include his loving and devoted family, his wife, Sherree (Chambers) Goodpaster; his daughter, Alysha Goodpaster; his two grandchildren, Allayah and Arron Corbin; his mother, Ruth Goodpaster; a sister, Marcia (husband, Joe) Freeman of Gaston; a brother, Joe Goodpaster of Ocala, Fla.; his aunt, Chet (husband, Jerry) Jackson; his two nieces, Amanda McGrath and her daughter, great-niece, Olivia McGrath, and Monica Duncan and family; mother and father-in-law, Kay and Ralph Reed ; brothers-in-law, Mark Reed, Jeff (wife, Allyson) Reed and family; and Ray (wife, Cathy and son, Griffin) Chambers; also several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many special lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Goodpaster; a brother, Phillip Goodpaster; and a sister-in-law, Angie Reed.
Services will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel, with the Rev. Ralph Anderson officiating. Inurnment will follow at a later date in the Yorktown Cemetery.
Visitation will be 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory, Washington Street Chapel.
