He is survived by his wife, the former, Ida Jean Hutchens; two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Brown and Mrs. Home Pate; two sons, John Allen and Sam Allen; a step-son, Earl Duncan; a sister, Mrs. Minnie Christ and 12 grandchildren.

Burial will be at Buck Grove cemetery, Meade County, Kentucky
