A Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 15, 2007, at East Side Baptist Church with Dr. Jim Heflin and Dr. Jeff Reid officiating. Burial will follow at Willow Cemetery directed by Holden - McCauley Funeral Home, Haskell. Visitation is Sunday afternoon from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
Mrs. Hodgin was born February 24, 1923, in Bell County to Albert and Mallie Booe. She was the sixth child of eight brothers and sisters: Clarence, Cecil, Loy, Ervin, Eulice, Willie and Norma Jean. She attended school in Munday and Weinert, where she met her future husband. Mrs. Hodgin married Warren Chester Hodgin on September 11, 1941, in Munday, at the home of the Methodist preacher. They were members of East Side Baptist Church since 1948. Mrs. Hodgin worked for Hammer Laundry, the Hi-Lander and Lane Apparel before she retired in 1986. Mr. Hodgin passed away on February 18, 1991.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; five brothers: Clarence Booe, Cecil Booe, Loy Booe, Ervin Booe, Eulice Booe; and one sister, Willie Floyd.
Surviving Mrs. Hodgin is a son, Garry Warren Hodgin and wife, June; two granddaughters: Tiffany Cook and husband, Brad, and Alison Sims and husband, Jon Michael; and four great-grandchildren: Max Zuliani, Savannah and Chere' Cook, and Jonas Warren Sims. In addition, she is survived by one sister, Norma Jean Byers and husband, Charles, three sisters-in-law: Ruth Hodgin, Hazel Jordan, and Minnie Pearl Kinney; and many nieces and nephews.
