Martin C. Lee, 74, of Lakewood, father of Sheriff Dwight Lee, died Wednesday afternoon in a Carlsbad hospital. He was a farmer and had lived at Lakewood for 34 years.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. today in the West Chapel, with the Rev. Charles Murdock, pastor of the Lakewood Baptist Church, officiating, assisted by the Rev. W. C. Garrett, Baptist pastor in Roswell. The body was taken to Artesia Cemetery this afternoon for burial.
Mr. Lee is survived by his wife, Mary; two other sons, Forrest and Albert Lee, and a daughter, Mrs. R. L. House, all of Lakewood, and seven grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Albert Foster, Homer Terrell, Neal Parker, Bud Aaron, Tom Price and Henry Stevenson, all of the Lakewood area.
