He was BORN 9/29/1914 at Groesbeck, son of M/M. John O. Downey. Was a resident of Milano since 1956. Employed by Alcoa Rockdale Works in the Potroom department since 1955. Veteran of WW-2 serving in the U.S. Army. Married Miss Donna Mozelle Williamson at Groesbeck on 1/26/1935. She preceded him in death on 11/20/1963. Married Mrs. Bessie Wood on 8/22/1970 at Cameron.

SURVIVORS: Wife, Mrs. Bessie Downey of Milano; 6 sons, Jack of Houston, Jerry and Billy of Dallas, Roy, James and Glenn of Milano; 7 daughters, Mrs. Dora Little and Mrs. Dorothy Wilson of Groesbeck, Mrs. Mary Dockall of Okaniwa, Mrs. Martha Pascall of Austin, Mrs. Linda Cotten and Mrs. Jan Popham of Milano and Mrs. Kathy Stork of Houston; 2 brothers, Vernon and George of Dallas; 5 sisters, Mrs. Corine Turner of Waco, Mrs. Patsy Sunday of Houston, Mrs. Lucille Little of Groesbeck, Mrs. Olan Emmons of Dallas and Mrs. Ione Hand of Alief; 18 grandchildren, 3 step-children; 4 step-grandchildren.
