DEATH OF HARVEY KING

Victim of Burns from Gasoline Engine Succumbs at Hospital

Mr Harvey King passed to the great beyond last night at 8 oclock at the King's
daughters hospital. He has been there for several days receiving treatment for
injuries he received when a gasoline engine backfired setting his clothing afire.

He was attempting to start a tractor motor last Saturday on the Tingle farm on
Fisher Ridge just back of Milton and had primed the cylinders. Suddenly the engine
backfired the flaming gasoline coming out the exhaust setting his clothing afire.

He was severely burned around the chest and arms before the burning clothing could
be removed. He was immediately taken to the King's daughters hospital in
Schneider's ambulance and was getting along nicely when pneumonia set in, which
caused his death.

Mr King was 43 years of age, a blacksmith and thresher by trade and was a very
popular man in his community. He is survived by a widow and two children two mourn
his passing. He is also survived by his father and mother, Dr and Mrs D H King.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 12:00 o'clock from the Mt Byrd Christian
church and the burial will be in Moffett's cemetery.
