Sister Teresa Mary Kelly (Sister Mary Teresa), a Grey Sister of the Immaculate Conception, Pembroke, ON died in Pembroke on the 2ndday of February, 2021 in the 76th year of her Religious Life. Left to mourn are the members of her religious community, her sister-in-law, Fran Kelly, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Gertrude (Martin), her brothers, Harold, John, Richard, and Patrick Daniel.

Sister Teresa was born on September 10, 1928, in Ottawa. She entered the Community on September 4, 1946, pronouncing final vows on August 3, 1951. A teacher by profession, she taught in various areas including Timmins, and Ottawa, where she served as Principal at St. Margaret Mary’s, Assumption, Corpus Christi and Immaculata High School. From 1974 to 1980, she was the Coordinator of Religious Education for the Ottawa Separate Schools. She also served as vocation director for the Grey Sisters’ Community from 1965-69. In 1989, she was elected Superior General of the Congregation, a position she held for a period of eight years. In retirement, she lived at Caritas Residence, Pembroke, where she continued to offer service in music and pastoral services. Her final years were lived at Shalom Residence.

Due to Covid-19 restrictions, there will be no visitation. Private Funeral Liturgy at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish, Pembroke, on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Interment in St. Columba's Cemetery.
