Mabel was the daughter of John Floyd Brohard and Eliza Ellen Jelley.
She married on July 31, 1916, Jackson County, Ohio, to William Arnold Bowman.

SUN-JOURNAL, Jackson, Fri, Mar 27, 1942:
BOWMAN SERVICES SCHEDULED FRIDAY
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. for Mrs. Mabel P. Bowman, 48, who died at her home on Jackson route 3 at 5:10 a.m. Tuesday. She had been in ill health for the past two years.
A native of Jackson township, she was a former county school teacher and was affiliated with the Valley Chapel Methodist church.
She leaves her husband, Arnold William Bowman; and the following children: Willard of California, Erza in Hawaii, Mrs. Harry Howe of Jackson, Miss Esther of Columbus and Everett, Winifred, William and Opal, all at home. She also leaves two brothers, Maurice Brohard and Charles Brohard, both of Jackson, route 3.
Services will be from the Valley Chapel church interment in Evergreen cemetery under the direction of Carl L. Leach.
