Robert D. Austin, 76, of Adairsville, GA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 29, 2021.
Robert was born May 4, 1944 in Buncombe County to his late parents Thomas and Nellie Cox Austin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Gladys Wheeler.
A carpenter by trade, he was truly a skilled craftsman. With a woodshop behind his home, he built cabinets, furniture, mantels and more.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Genell; two daughters, Doris Ann (James) and Bobbie Ann (Anthony); grandchildren: Justin (Gabrielle), Heather (Tyler), Donnie (Eva), Christopher (Katie), Lexi (Robert), Courtney (Josh), Morgan, Jamie (Thomas) and Brittany (Tyler); great grandchildren: Lilly Ann, Karter, Houston, Madison Natalie, Callen, Robbie, Lainey, Bayleigh, Evin, Caylin, Hannah, Carson, Levi, Rion, Grayson, Alaina, Coraline and Brantley; brother, Richard Austin; sister, Selma Harkins; several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 01, 2021 at 6:00 pm at Madison Funeral Services with Pastor Kermit Ball officiating.
