He was BORN 2/1/1895 near Ruston, LA. Married Velma Clawson on 6/1/1920 at Ft.Worth. Served as a peace officer in Rockdale for 12 yrs., ending in 1940's. Joined the Texas Dept. of Public Safety in 1945 and lived in Wichita Falls and Brady prior to moving to San Angelo in 1949. Retired from the DPS in 1960. SURVIVORS: Wife, Velma; 2 daughters, Mrs. Carl Wilson of Monroe, LA., and Mrs. Frank Strickland of San Angelo; brother, Ain Colvin of Ruston, LA.; sister, Mrs. Willis Taylor of Ruston; 4 grandchildren.
