Huel Douglas Acuff passed away November 28, 2020, in Gilmer, Texas. Doug was born to Huel and Ruby Reasoner Acuff on April 23, 1937, in Longview, Texas. Doug was retired from El Paso Oil and Gas. He was a true Roughneck who graduated in 1955 from White Oak High School. He lived in White Oak most of his life.

Doug loved to be in his boat, fishing for the biggest bass. He belonged to several different fishing clubs. He was also a member of the Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Debbie Bennett Acuff. He is also survived by his three daughters and two sons--Mary Bell and husband Mike, Deborah Williams and husband Randy, Tiffany Nugent Creed, Murry Acuff (Bubba) and wife Crystal, and Dustin Nugent and wife Fely. Nine grandchildren Brandi Spurger, Kyle Williams, Ashley Bell, Chelsi Myers, Michelle Acuff Bryan, Madison Creed, Nico Nugent, Harper Nugent, and Brookelynn Creed, several great-grandchildren, and his sister Delores Smith also survive him.

Doug is preceded in death by his parents, his brother Ray Glen Acuff, and granddaughter Savannah Skye Creed.

Due to the Covid pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. It will be held at Church of Christ, Pritchett, Texas, where Doug was an active member.
