Patricia C. “Christine” (O’Hare) Withrow, age 78, of Lynn, died on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at the Merrimack Valley Vero Health and Rehabilitation Center in Amesbury, following a lengthy illness. She was the loving and devoted wife of the late T.J. “Woody Withrow with whom she shared 45 years of marriage and predeceased her in 2010. Born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1942, she was the daughter of the late Patrick G. and Helen V. (Kinsella) O’Hare. She was raised in Scotland, immigrated to the United States in 1957 at the age of 14 and graduated from Lynn Classical High School in 1960. Christine worked as a histology technician at the former Union Hospital for many years and later became a volunteer at the hospital. She was a parishioner at St. Pius V Church, a member of the Ladies Sodality and was a parishioner of the former St. Patrick’s Church in Lynn. She enjoyed singing, reading, a clean house and loved entertaining her family and friends. She was active with the annual play held at Broadway United Methodist Church, now Grace United Methodist Church, a member of the “Monday Night Funsters”, a Cub Scout den mother at Lynn Woods Elementary School and was fond of the Lynnfield Senior Center.
Christine is survived by her loving children, Stewart Withrow and his wife Laurie of Scituate, Stephen Withrow of Lynn and Jennifer Letarte of Andover; her beloved grandchildren, Laura, Stephen and Jack Withrow, Ryan and Sean Letarte and Stewart Withrow and her many nieces, nephews and friends including her Godson James O’Hare and her lifelong friend Helen McLaren. She was the sister of the late Geraldine O’ Hare.
A Funeral Mass will be held in St. Pius V Church, Lynn on Thursday, February 4, 2021. Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Lynn. Visiting hours will be on Wednesday in the SOLIMINE FUNERAL HOME, 426 Broadway (Rt. 129), Lynn from 4-8p.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and are required to adhere to the guidelines of the CDC, the State of Massachusetts and the Local Board of Health, which allows up to 25 family and friends in the funeral home at a time and all are required to wear a face covering and practice social distancing.
