Wife of:
LeFay "Lee" Plume, married October 25, 1969 in Flint, Genesee County, Michigan.

Kathryn Anne Plume, “Kathy”, age 69, of Cheboygan, died at home on Tuesday January 26, 2021. Born in Cheboygan on April 26, 1951, Kathy was the daughter of Leonard and Margaret (Morway) Cantile. Blessed with 51 years of marriage, she and LeFay “Lee” Plume wed on October 25, 1969 in Flint. A wife, mother, and homemaker, Kathy had a big heart for helping others. She had an open door policy, taking those in who needed a place to stay. She never judged, just cared and treated them like family. Her kindness and concern spilled over to her career as she was instrumental in the formation of the Northern Care Center in Cheboygan which gives free medical care to uninsured and under-insured residents of Cheboygan County. Kathy worked there as a medical administrator after earning her Master’s Degree in Medical Administration from the University of Phoenix. A talented crafter and artist, Kathy enjoyed crocheting, drawing, and making jewelry which she sold at local craft shows and through her consignment shop, Home Spun Creations. She had a deep interest in her heritage and loved researching her family genealogy and ancestry. Kathy enjoyed flower gardening and loved date night with Lee when they went out for dinner and to the casino. She was devoted to her family, had a special place in her heart for children, and was well-known in the community. She touched many lives with her kindness and dedication to the Care Center. The core of Kathy’s being was helping others; she will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Surviving Kathy is her husband, Lee Plume; daughters, Michelle (Rick) Lawrence and Amy McCarney, all of Cheboygan; Six grandchildren, Emily, Jordan, Felicia, Brittney, Andrew, and Shalynn; as well as five great grandchildren, Terra, Asheara, Athena, Nevaeh, and De-Ahzay. Kathy also leaves her sister, Lamae (John) Satarino of Milan, brother, Henry Cantile of Carp Lake; and her step-brothers and sisters. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Robbie; brother, Ralph Cantile; and infant sisters, Linda Jane and Mary Cantile.

Kathy will be honored by her family privately. Her final resting place will be in Mackinaw City at Lakeview Cemetery. Those planning an expression of sympathy please consider a donation to help Kathy’s family with final expenses. Courtesy of Chagnon Funeral Home Inc.
