W. W. SMITH DIES AT 88
Rites Wednesday For Jefferson Twp. Resident
Funeral services for William W. Smith, 88, retired Jefferson township farmer, will be »t 2 o'clock Wednesday at Crooked Creek Christian church. The Reverend Virden Graham will officiate and burial will be in the Crooked Creek cemetery. The body has been taken from the McCloskey-Hamilton funeral home to the residence on route 3,Royal Center, where friends may call. He died Sunday morning at 8:50 in the same home where he was born. He was born March 11, 1860, the son of Samuel and Catherine (Jackson) Smith, and spent all his life in this county. His wife, the former Susan Burket, died 11 years ago.
Surviving are six sons, Bert, route 1, Idaville; Ernest, South Bend. Arthur and James, both of Logansport; Samuel of Quincy, Ill., and Walter, at home: 28 grandchildren: 41 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
