MRS. JESSIE P. HOWELL OF ALACHUA PASSED AWAY SUNDAY

Mrs. Jessie P. Howell of Alachua died Sunday morning at 11 o'clock at her home of tuberculosis, in the forty-sixth year of her age.

Deceased was born in Melrose, where she resided for a number of years. She was twice married, first in 1888 to J. Y. Smith. Mr. Smith died in 1892, when afterward deceased was married to Dr. E.B. Howell, who survives her.

Deceased was a devoted member of the Baptist church in Alachua, and up to that time of her illness was an active worker. None in Alachua was more universally regarded and her death will be greatly regretted by her large circle of friends and acquaintances. Beside her husband, she is survived by two sons, Furman Y. Smith and Edgar Howell and one daughter, Miss Katie Smith. Also four brother, J.R., Chas. And Thomas Williams of Alachua and Hugh Williams of Waldo, and two sisters Mrs. T.B. Maynard of Alachua and Mrs. McCranie of Tampa. The sympathy of the community is extended to the bereaved relatives.

The funeral was held at 11 o'clock Monday morning, Rev. T. W. Moore of the Methodist church officiated. The interment was in Newnansville Cemetery, and was largely attended.
