Norman F. Baer, 93, of Lafayette, passed away on December 29, 2020. He was born on December 5, 1927 to Ara C. and E. Pearl (Jones) Baer in Lafayette, IN. Norman had just celebrated his 93rd birthday.

Norman graduated from Round Grove High School and attended Indiana Business College. After business college, he served in the Army Air Corp.

On May 2, 1948, Norman married Mary Jane Swanson, who survives. Together, they had four daughters, 11 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. A sister also survives.

Norman retired from Purdue University where he worked as an electrical estimator for 35 years. He was an avid fan of Purdue football, Purdue basketball and the Chicago Cubs.

Norman was a lifelong member of Congress Street United Methodist Church where he served as a head usher for many years. He enjoyed photography, playing dart ball and bowling. Norman and Mary loved camping and travel. They have even traveled to all 50 states and 11 foreign countries.

A memorial service will be held sometime in the future. Norman will be buried at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens in West Lafayette.
