Mary Virginia "Ginger" Galt Epley passed away suddenly at her home in Portsmouth on 15 January 2021.

Born in Tallahassee, FL, on 13 February 1949, she was a proud graduate of the University of Georgia, a devout Catholic, and a Third Order Carmelite. She taught Art at schools in Savannah, GA, Richmond, VA, and Athens, GA, among other places. Highly interested in her family heritage, she was a member of the DAR. She traced her family back to Williamsburg, Jamestown, and the Covenanters of Scotland.

She was predeceased by her parents, Evelyn Epps Galt, and William R Galt, Jr., of Athens, GA.

After not seeing each other for forty-plus years, the love of her life, Donald Epley, reconnected with her on Facebook. They would have celebrated their 7th Wedding Anniversary on 14 February 2021.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Donald, of Portsmouth; her sister, Sylvia Novak of Athens, GA; her brother, William R. Galt, III, and his wife, Cindy, also of Athens; three nephews and their wives; and numerous cousins.

Interment will be at the Albert Horton Veterans Cemetery, Suffolk, at 2 p.m.
