Donald Richard Heller, 83, of Harleysville, PA; formerly of Perkasie, PA, Quakertown, PA, Putnam, CT, & Souderton, PA entered into rest on Wednesday, January 27, 2021 at Abington Memorial Hospital.
He was the loving husband of the late Lillian Alexina (Girouard) Heller for 59 years. Don was born in Souderton, PA to the late Henry Heller and the late Minnie (Strouse) Heller.
He attended Souderton Area High School. Don worked as plumber for BKG Plumbing & Heating in Telford and then as a technician for the University of Connecticut.
Don was a life member of the Perseverance Volunteer Fire Company in Souderton. He was an attender of Emmanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church in Souderton.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, and being involved with the firehouse. He was a strong-willed man who had a sarcastic sense of humor. Don was a man who knew what he wanted.
He is survived by his two sons, Raymond Wayne Heller, Sr. & wife, Joanne of Sellersville, PA, Jeffrey Wayne Heller & companion, LuAnn Routhier of Gilbertsville, MA; his seven grandchildren – Rosanna, Ray Jr., Michael, Aly, Tasha, Jenn, & Christopher; his eight great-grandchildren – Charlotte, Caleb, Joel, Kennedy, Emylia, Grayson, Kacie, & Kallie; his sister, Marilyn H. Detweiler of Telford, PA; and his two sisters-in-law, Shirley Ann Heller of Souderton, PA and Shirley Heller of Harleysville, PA.
In addition to his parents and wife, Don was preceded in death by his two sisters, Evelyn Biedler & Phyllis Gehman and his two brothers, John & Robert Heller.
A memorial service will be held in March/April 2021 at Anders-Detweiler Funeral Home & Crematory, 130 E. Broad St., Souderton, Pennsylvania .
