Services for John Edward Goynes of Elkhart will be at Bailey & Foster Chapel with Rev. Jason Hoffman officiating. Masonic graveside rites will follow in Cedar Creek Cemetery.
He was born to Ed and Bertha Whitley Goynes,.
Mr. Goynes was a barber for many years and retired from TDCJ. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Elkhart and Masonic Lodge #400. He loved working on the home place and raising a vegetable garden.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Evelyn Churchwell; and a brother harkes Goynes.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Bobbie C. Anders Goynes; daughters, Kathy Wilson, Teresa Woodall, Patricia McSwain and Susan Anders; sons, Dennis Goynes, Doug Anders and Michael Anders; and sister, Shirley Holesworth.
