James Edward Little, 83, of McAlester, died Saturday, Jan. 23, at McAlester Regional Health Center. Graveside funeral services will be Tuesday, Jan.26, at 11:00 a.m. at Memory Gardens Memorial Park, with Monte Busby officiating. Pallbearers are Eddie Cordell, Jimmy Cordell, Jeff Moore, Cleve Moore, Robbie Rivers and Josh Little.

James Little was born on Sept. 28, 1937 in Tucson, Ariz. To James Clyde Little and Ocia Lorane (Luker) Little. James has lived in McAlester virtually all his life. He and Jeannie Morrow were married on Feb. 16, 1957 in Stigler. James then served in the U. S. Army from 1961 to 1963, then served in the Army Reserves. James worked for the city of McAlester as the water plant chief operator, retiring after 25 years. He then went to work for the city of Krebs in the same capacity, retiring after 20 years. Not liking to just sit around, James went to work for Pittsburg County as a dump truck driver for a few years. When he did have time, James liked riding horses and watching sports. James was of the Baptist faith.

James is survived by a daughter, Tammy Little; 2 granddaughters, Courtney Little and Carley Little; a great grandson, Joshua Kyle Maynard, Jr.; a brother, Jerry Don Little; 2 sisters, Estelle Dossman and Shirley Greenmyer. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jeannie; and a son, Clyde Wayne Little.
