Janice Marie Swain, 78, of Wilmington, NC, met her savior on Monday, January 11, 2021 after a short stay at Lower Cape Fear LifeCare.

She was born October 24, 1942 to the late Mildred Elizabeth Robinson and Faison Dan Robinson, of Wilmington, NC. In addition to her parents, Janice was preceded in death by her husband John William Cameron, son Timothy Dean Cameron, & brother Faison Dan Robinson Jr.

She is survived by her, daughter Shelia Cameron Eaton & her husband, Michael R. Eaton, son, John William Cameron Jr. & his partner, LaDonna S. Thomas & her daughter Savannah Barton, & son Rodney Franklin Swain; grandchildren, Brandon Michael Eaton, Brittany Lea Cameron, Holly Graham White & her husband, Andrew David White, and Samantha Wendes Pierce & her husband, Edward Calvitt Pierce Jr.; and great grandchildren, Ada Von Eaton, Henry Jackson White, Dorothy Blace White, Riley Alexandra Pierce & Aiden Samuel Pierce. Janice is also survived by sister, Betty Jane Peterson & her husband, Danny Peterson; nephew, Larry Wayne Robinson & his wife, Paula Taylor; and niece, Dana Michelle Peterson.

Janice (granny as lovingly called by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren) had deep roots in the Wilmington area, going back generations. She loved to laugh, often falling for the telephone pranks of her grandson Brandon (at the encouragement of her daughter Shelia) and then reminding him of them each time they reminisced. She was an excellent cook, and always provided the chocolate cake her son-in-law Mike craves each holiday. She loved her family, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and her warm smile will be missed.

We have the blessing of grace on our side, forgiveness of sin, and eternal life through Jesus Christ, so although we are separated from Janice now, we will be reunited with her once again in paradise.

Psalm 30:5 "Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning."

A graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Wilmington, NC on Friday, January 15, 2021 at 3pm with Pastor Mitchell Cameron officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that charitable donations in memory of Janice be made to Lower Cape Fear LifeCare at lifecare.org.
