Edward J. Avis Dies Suddenly
Resident of City 26 Years Succumbs
Edward J. Avis, 202 Garfield avenue, died suddenly Saturday evening of a heart attack at his home.
He was born in Alpena July 7, 1876, and had been a resident here for the past 25 years. He was a member of Trinity Episcopal church.
His survivors are: his widow, Lottie Wolff Avis; two sons, Edward, Bloomfield Hills, and Warren, Grosse Pointe; a daughter Mrs. Dorothy Roger, Bay City; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; a brother, Worthy L. Bay City; and a sister, Mrs. Rose Mae Mainville, Detroit.
The Rev. Harold MacCausland will officiate in funeral rites Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Vallender and Penzien Funeral home. Burial will be in Pine Ridge cemetery.
