Donald (Donnie) Arthur Hollowell, 79, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on January 16, 2021. Graveside service will be held Friday January 22, 2021 at 1pm at the Abilene City Cemetery with Minister John Shepard officiating.
Donnie was born on April 6, 1941 in Abilene to Carl and Earlene Hollowell. He attended school in Abilene, Andrews and graduated from Wylie high school in 1960.
Donnie married Wilma Pruitt on October 5, 1962. She passed away in September 2007. On August 21, 2010, Donnie married Shirley (Dunn) Noe. Donald worked for Mack Eplen’s Catering, City of Abilene, Gooch’s and Gene’s Campers before retiring.
Donnie was a member of North Park Assembly of God church Abilene.
Donnie was preceded by his parents, his wife Wilma, and a sister Martha.
He is survived by his wife Shirley, brothers Carl and his wife Markey, Fred and his wife Tina, Tommy and his wife Sandra, sister Ruthie and husband Allen and nieces and nephews. Also survived by Wilma‘s daughters Rosemary and Ann and grandchildren and great grandchildren( who call him Papy). Norths Funeral Home is handling arrangements. There will be a private burial with family. Pastor John Shepard of North Park Assembly of God will officiate. There will be no visitation or memorial service.
