DR. H. WILLIAMS SERVICES FRIDAY

Funeral service for Dr. Herbert Lewis Williams, 66, widely known physician of this community, and member of a prominent early Peoria family, who died at Proctor hospital Wednesday morning after a prolonged illness, will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the Wilton mortuary chapel.
The Rev. R. O'Neill of Westminster Presbyterian church will officiate and burial will be in the family lot in Mt. Hawley cemetery. Friends may call at the Wilton mortuary chapel this evening and memorial contributions may be made to the Bradley university library fund.
Dr. Williams, who had his residence and office at 6013 South Adams street, Bartonville, had been in partial retirement for a bout a year because of ill health.
He was born at Alta Jan. 9, 1883, a son of Thomas C. and Nancy Holmes Williams. He had resided in Bartonville since he married Ann Collier there Dec. 15, 1914.
Dr. Williams attended Bradley university and was graduated from Northwestern university at Evanston. He served his internship at St. Luke's hospital in Chicago and at Milwaukee, Wisc., and at one time was associated with the late Dr. R. A. Hanna.
Dr. Williams was a member of the American Medical association, the Peoria County Medical society and the Creve Coeur club. He attended Bartonville Methodist church and took an active part in the work there.
Surviving are his wife and one uncle, Charles Holmes of Dunlap.
