Heights is Dead

Frank Poplett, a life-long resident of Peoria county and who had for the past two or three years been village marshal of Peoria Heights, died at the home of his father, William Poplett, Saturday night after a comparatively short illness.
He had been a resident of the village between six and seven years, moving there with his parents, William and Clarissa Poplett, from the farm on the Mount Hawley road, which had been in the possession of the family since the early days of Peoria. William Poplett, the father of the deceased, and Wiley Poplett, an uncle, settled an adjoining farms about eight miles from the city and for many years lived thereon. They are among the oldest residents of the count and "Poplett's Hollow" in its day a famous hunting resort, is named after them.
Frank Poplett was 36 years old and has always lived in the county. He is survived by his parents and four brothers. Wiley and Albert living near Gibson City and James and Irving living at home. Three sisters also survive, Anna, Mary and Emma, the two former residing at home and the latter married and residing in the Heights.
The parents of the dead man are most estimable people and highly respected by all who know them. The deceased was also possessed of a genial and approachable manner and was popular with his associates. The funeral will take place from the family residence at Peoria Heights, Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, and the interment will be in cemetery on the Mount Hawley road, near the boyhood home of the dead man.
