Jack Davis Barnette, 94, formerly of Oak Ridge, passed away Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the home of his daughter in Knoxville.
He was born August 1, 1927 in Iuka, MS, the son of Ernest F. and Pearly R. Terral Barnett.
Mr. Barnett was a veteran of WWII serving with the US Navy onboard the USS Tuscaloosa.
He retired from the Y-12 plant where he was an Operations Engineer and he was a 50-year member of Faith Masonic Lodge #756.
Mr. Barnette enjoyed bowling with the Senior Mixed Leagues and playing bingo at the Senior Center.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Mildred Roach Barnette.
He is survived by daughter, Alice Pinckard and her husband Patrick of Knoxville; sisters, Linda McLendon of Anderson, SC and Gerry Hamby of Greenville, SC; sister-in-law Lillie Mae Roach McGrath of Louisville, KY;
grandson Christopher Pinckard and wife Savannah of White Pine, TN; great-grandchildren Jaxson and Makayla Pinckard; special girls Janet and Shirley; and several nieces, nephews and extended family.
His family would like to extend a special thank you to PCM (Professional Case Management) for all the help and compassion shown to Mr. Barnette in the past couple of years.
Family and friends will meet on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Oak Ridge Memorial Park at 11:00 am for a graveside service.
Memorials can be mad to Zoo Knoxville or the Anderson County Habitat for Humanity.
