He was born in Ware County to the late Elijah “Buddy” Allen and Beatrice Strickland Allen where he was a member of Williams Chapel Baptist Church. He was a foreman at Wells Cargo in Waycross for many years and most recently a truck driver with Southland Waste. He loved carpentry and was best known as a jack of all trades.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by five siblings, Richard Allen, Charles Allen, twin brother Donald Allen, Marie Taylor, and Terry Allen.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Allen of Blackshear; two children, Benjamin Allen (Traci) of Alma and Candace Allen (Jeremy Spivey) of Waycross; three grandchildren, Kevin Allen (Jamie), Katie Turner (fiance Alex), and Kurtis Sowell; two great grandchildren, Ayden Wildes and Madilynn Johnson; four siblings, Lonnie Allen (Trasa Cochran), Cara Lee (Danny), Teresa Music (Alan), and Tony Allen; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday (January 24, 2021) at Thomas Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends at the cemetery on Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
