Margaret (Peggy) Jammaer was born on April 21, 1923 in Grimsby, England to Charles William Martinelli and Louisa Jane Foll Martinelli.  She was the middle child of eleven children and grew up in Grimsby, England.  She attended British Royal Academy of Nursing and became a much needed nurse during World War II.   She later moved to the United States and in 1965, Margaret became a U.S. citizen.  She was a distinguished secretary to the Dean of Veterinary Medicine at Louisiana State University for over 20 years.   She was a member of the Daughters of the Union Jack, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, as well as a member of the Daughters of the British Empire.  After moving to the Katy, Texas area, Margaret became a member of Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church.   She loved poetry and was a member of the American Society of Poets.  Margaret was a very outgoing and friendly individual. She was always cheerful and had a smile on her face.

          Margaret (Peggy) Jammaer passed away on Friday, January 15, 2021 in Katy, Texas at 97 years of age.

          She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph John Jammaer on February 12, 2007; by her parents, Charles William Martinelli and Louisa Jane Foll Martinelli; and nine of her siblings.

          She is survived by her daughter, Theresa Philley and her husband Jack of Katy; her three granddaughters, Laura Dixon and her husband David of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Belinda Bailey and her husband Cope of Houston and Suzanne Moore and her husband Colin of Austin; her six great grandchildren, Joseph Dixon, Elizabeth Dixon, Aidan Bailey, Emma Bailey, Charles Moore and Robert Moore; her brother, Bernard Martinelli and his wife Jean of Australia; and numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and many friends.

          Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at Epiphany of the Lord Catholic Church, in Katy, with Rev. Joseph Methanath, Celebrant.  Interment will follow on Tuesday at Houston National Cemetery.
