Lonny Hill Bodie, age 65, a resident of Joliet, IL and formerly of Downers Grove, passed away on January 16, 2021. He was born on July 6, 1955 in Aurora, IL.
Lonny is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Bodie; his loving daughter, Torianna Nichole Bodie; his siblings, Lori (the late Robert) Rupinski, Bobbi (the late Teddy) Krol, Cindi Bodie, Dawne Truse and Brian Bodie; his step-daughter, Khara (Bill) Uczen and step-grandchildren, Caleb, Harlie, Quinn and Rylee Uczen; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins and great friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Nancy Gunia.
Lonny attended Thomas Kelly High School, Chicago from 1969 until 1973. He proudly served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam Era and was honorably discharged in 1975. He worked as a senior production mechanic for Unique Mailing Services for almost 30 years. Afterwards he was a service technician for various companies until his retirement 2019. Lonny loved to keep active and will be remembered as a hard worker. He was a very active member of Plainfield United Methodist Church and selflessly gave his time to various volunteer activities. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Visitation will be Monday, January 25, 9:00 AM until 12:00 Noon at the Overman-Jones Funeral Home & Cremation Services, corner of Routes 30 & 59, Plainfield. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 Noon at the funeral home with Pastor Dick Wisdom officiating. Current health guidelines must be followed.
