Mary Lou Waldron Spires, 81, of Waycross died Wednesday (January 20, 2021) at Memorial Satilla Health in Waycross after a brief illness. Mrs. Spires was born in Blackshear to the late Dennis Waldron and Viola Howard Waldron and made Ware and Pierce Counties her home for all her life. She was a co-owner of Spires Carpet and attended Lulaton Baptist Church. She loved crafting, flowers, cooking, traveling and was talented at teaching all her trades. She served as a pink lady for many years at the local hospital and ran Mary’s Kitchen.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by four siblings, Johnny Waldron, Lillie Mae Christner, Jerry Waldron and Pee Wee Waldron.

Mrs. spires is survived by her children, Scott Spires (Robbie) of Blackshear, Teresa Spires Vickers (Richard) of Warner Robbins, Georgia, Dan Spires (Christa) of Waycross, Melissa Spires of Anchorage, Alaska, Jamie Spires of Waycross; grandchildren, Elizabeth Spires (Ken Mullis), Jason Thrift, Jay Spires (Jen), John Spires (Leslie), Brad Spires (Misty), Preston Spires, Adam Spires (Kelly), Caleb Spires (Savannah), Holden Vickers (Kayla), Brent White (Ashley), Brandy White; 25 of her greatest treasures her beloved great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Saturday (January 23, 2021) at 2:00pm in the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Ben James Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 1:00pm at the funeral home.
