Francis William Shupe, 77, of the 400 block of Beechwood Ave., a retired aircraft mechanic, died December 23, 1991, in a nursing home.

Mr. Shupe was born in Mountain City, Tenn. He retired from Norfolk Naval Air Rework Facility after 28 years and was a member of Valley View United Methodist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Olive Shupe; two daughters, Margaret Beane of Virginia Beach and Linda Thompson of South Mills, N.C.; a son, Thomas W. Shupe of Virginia Beach; three stepsons, Jim Shupe of Winter Springs, Fla., and Bob Shupe and Paul Shupe, both of Jacksonville, Fla.; a sister, Margaret S. Floyd of Rockford, Tenn.; a brother, Frank Shupe of Butler, Tenn.; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

The graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by the Rev. Walter C. Sweeney. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Thursday.

Memorial donations may be made Sentara Nursing Center's Vent Unit.
