Billie Jean Abbott Barnes, 95, formerly of Blytheville, passed away Friday, January 15, 2021, in Wetumpka, Alabama.

Billie Jean was born in Blytheville to Charles Milo Abbott and Mattie Mae Thompson Abbott. Billie Jean was a long-time member of The First Baptist Church in Blytheville, where she was very active in several areas of the church. In addition to her love of the Lord, she enjoyed playing bridge and reading. After graduating from Blytheville High School, she attended Ward Belmont College in Nashville, TN.

Billie Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Utho T Barnes, her parents, her brothers; Charles M Abbott (infant), Charles E Abbott, Ben Abbott, Peter Abbott, and sister Virgie Mae Abbott Geary.

She is survived by her children: Tom Barnes (Carol) of Nashville, Tennessee, Linda Roberson (Martin) of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Susan Tompkins (Steve) of Wetumpka, Alabama, and brother Jonathan Abbott (Margret) of Blytheville. In addition, she leaves 7 grandchildren and 3 Great-Grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, January 22nd at 1:00 p.m. at Elmwood Cemetery.
