Irvin Ansel, 95, formerly of Harrisburg, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2020 in Boynton Beach, FL.

He was the husband of Corrine Barowsky Ansel and the late Florence Ansel.

Surviving him are his 3 children: Amy Goldman of Tewksbury, MA., Robin Gross of Yardley, PA., Larry Ansel and daughter in law Barrie Ansel of Roslyn, NY, along with 7 grandchildren Rachel Goldman, Melissa Gomez, Jake Ansel, Alexis Gross, Scott Ansel, David Gross, Katy Ansel and great grandson Gavin Gomez.

Also surviving him are his stepson Mark and Lori Barowsky, grandchildren Caryn and Logan Waters, Craig and Nikki Barowsky and great grandchildren Harrison, Elizabeth and Amira.

He graduated from William Penn High School in 1942. He was the proprietor of Factory Grinding Service in Harrisburg until his retirement in 1987.

He survived his parents Anna G. Cohen and Abram (Bob) Ansel. He also survived his siblings Rita Gottesman, Pearl Budnick, Eleanor Brumberg, Emanuel Ansel and Delanetta Ansel.

A longtime member of Blue Ridge Country Club of Harrisburg and Hunters Run of Boynton Beach, FL., he was an avid golfer and bridge player and most enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. His comical, light hearted nature made him popular with all generations and will be missed.

A funeral service will be held at the Kesher Israel Cemetery Chapel, 566 Oliver Dr., Harrisburg PA 17109, on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in Kesher Israel Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Irvin’s memory may be made to Kesher Israel Synagogue of Harrisburg, The American Diabetes Association and The American Heart Association.
