Rena Elizabeth “Rimp” Green, 97, of Trenton passed away on Sunday, January 10, 2021 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Henry Haddock and Julia Eva Haddock, husband, Elton Edward Davenport, who passed away in 1944; son, Ronald Elton Davenport; husband, Leo Raby Green, who passed away in 2016; siblings, Agnes Becton, Horace Lee Haddock, Ida Bell Holloman, William “Rock” Haddock, and Joseph Henry Haddock, Jr.
Rena was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and friend who enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family. She was a member of Shady Grove Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was loved by all and will be missed by many.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Davenport Sumrell and husband, Donald, of Trenton; son, Raymond Keith Green and wife, Marilyn, of Trenton; daughter-in-law, Becky Gray Davenport of Kinston; grandchildren, Ronald Elton Davenport, Jr. and wife, Kay, of Clayton, Stephen Cale Sumrell and wife, Kathryn, of Goldsboro, Erin Elizabeth Rief and husband, David, of Newport, and Andrea Martina Eubank and husband, Josh, of Cape Carteret and great-grandchildren, Shelby Elizabeth Davenport, Ronald Elton Davenport III, Weaver Davenport Sumrell, Isabell Kathryn Sumrell, Greenlee Elizabeth Rief, Kohlman Maggie Rief, Raylen Virginia Rief, Wrenn Michael Rief, Aubree Gail Eubank, and Joshua James Eubank II.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at Green Family Cemetery on Wyse Fork Road in Trenton. Pastor Greg Dickerson will be officiating.
