Son of James W. Barber and Elizabeth "Betsy" A. Cole. Born in Michigan and a resident of Lansing for 51 yrs. Was a member of the plasters Union N0. 500. Surviving are the widow Nellie. Three daughters, Mrs. Irene Watson of Glendale Cal., Mrs. Dora Hilcock, and Mrs. Mabel Dillon both of Battle Creek. Two sons William Barber and and Robert Barber both of Battlecreek. He also had two stepdaughters Mrs. Devona Henry of Wayne and Mrs. Carol Colantonio of Flint. (obit)

Added in September of 2014 Via Victoria Davis. Alexander had two wives - Ellena Stockwell (1881-1973), who he divorced, and Nellie J Angus (1902-Unknown). Nellie married Alexander in 1925. She had previously been married to Sidney Streeter and had two daughters with him (Carol and Devona mentioned in the obituary). Nellie had no children with Alexander.
